Introducing astrology to novice audience

As the editor of the E-News at the Organization of Professional Astrologers www.opaastrology.com I presented a question to our members. "How would you explain astrology to a novice audience?"

This was my own response.

 “Thank you for lending me your ears so I can share with you my passion about the treasure we can find in the astrological birth chart. It has helped me immensely in my life, and has helped astrologers and people who were willing to explore it’s benefit.

Imagine your life to be a long walk in a forest. Sometimes you are hiking on high ground, some times on low terrain. Some of the trees are tall, some are low. Some allow view in between their branches, others block the light.  Whether your vision of your trail is clear or blurry, you are on it and you must continue to walk.

When your trail is clear, you may walk singing and happy. Other times your trail may be blocked by stormy weather which slows you down and makes you anxious and stressed."Where should I turn", you  ask yourself. “Should I go left or right? Should I stop for a while until the storm is over or should I run through this effortless track? Where will this pathway lead me to?”  At times you are sure, Other times you have doubts. Sometimes you are anxious and stressful, other times you are relaxed. No matter how far you see, no matter how clear your path is - you must go on.

Now, imagine that in your backpack you have a road map which helps you navigate and makes your journey more interesting and productive.

Should you choose to explore it,  here are three benefits your birth chart can offer you:

1. Watch the big picture: See a clearer overview of your life’s journey.

2. Receive validation about what you intuitively feel is right or wrong, but don’t seem to be sure of.  

3. Receive illuminations regarding your strength and weaknesses; pitfalls to watch for as well as terrain on which you can move freely.

 No matter what,you will still have to walk your own path though,  but with the guidance of your astrological chart, you will have your own personal guidance. With this map you could see your path clearer. You will be able to enjoy your journey even when your trail is blocked and you don’t see the forest from the trees.
